Standardization of names
The search script of the DISBYT database has been updated. The names you are searching for will be standardized to normal Swedish spelling to improve the search result. This affects the first names and surnames ending with -sson or -dotter.
(Examples: Arfwid is standardized to Arvid, and Pahlsen is standardized to Pålsson.)
If you use ? or * for single or multiple wild card characters no standardization will take place.

Spelling
Original spelling of names will be presented. Earlier you have only seen the standardized spelling.

New time limits for accepting data
All data older than 100 years will be accepted as before. Newer data concerning deceased will also be accepted, if he or she deceased more than 25 years ago.
